Control Your Emotions When You’re Negotiating

Motivational Power Quote

Control Your Emotions When You’re Negotiating
“You cannot always control what goes on outside.
But you can always control what goes on inside.”
Dr. Wayne Dyer, author

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Control your emotions when you’re negotiating

Staying in control of your emotions when you’re negotiating is critical element of successful negotiations.

If you lose control of your emotions you lose control of the negotiating process.

Experienced negotiators will use the tactic of attempting to have you lose control of your emotions when they’re negotiating with you. If they become successful and you lose control of your emotions they take the power position and have a distinct advantage in the negotiating process.

They will challenge your personally, your ability and your position in the negotiations to disrupt you. Remain focused on the big picture not the opinion of the other person.

Focus on the issues in the negotiation not the people.

The person that can stay in control of their emotions are in the power position in the negotiations.

Control your emotions when your negotiating and you will increase the potential have having a successful outcome in the negotiations.

Never Be Bullied

Motivational Power Quote

Never Be Bullied
“Never be bullied into silence.
Never allow yourself to be made a victim.
Accept no one definition of your life;
define yourself.”
Harvey Feinstein, author and playwright

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Never be bullied

There are times that you voice an opinion and someone takes an opposing view to what you said and they try to bully you into silence and submission.

Bullying can take place in private, in groups or through a third party.

When someone is disagreeing with your and attempting to bully you, they will try to belittle you in front of other people to make you feel weak and to assert themselves into a power position.

They will try to make fun of your position to make you feel irrelevant. There are times where they will call you names to try to intimidate you.

Why do they try to bully you? Because they feel threaten because your position is strong and they’re fighting back from a weak position by trying to bully you into submission.

Don’t allow anyone to make you the victim.

We see bullying in every aspect of life, stand up to the bully by remaining in control. If you lose your temper you lose control of the situation and allow the bully to take control.

If the person bullying you is out of control, remain calm and stay in control of your emotions.

We see bullying in negotiations, in selling a point of view and in relationships.

Never be bullied stay in control of your emotions and you stay in control of the situation.

Stay Calm In Times of Stress

Motivational Power Quote

Stay Calm In Times of Stress

“Calmness is the cradle of power.”
Josiah Gilbert Holland

As I see it. . . . . . .
Stay calm in times of stress.

The person that stays calm in the time of stress stays in control.

The person that becomes reactive loses control and respect.

Calmness in a time of stress places the person in a power position.

The person that becomes combative loses power and weakens their position.

An example would be in negotiations the person that reminds calm and focused on the outcome has the power position in the negotiations and will negotiate successfully.

Remind calm for maximum impact.
