What Does Nancy Pelosi and Real Estate Sales Professionals Have In Common?

What Does Nancy Pelosi and Real Estate Sales Professionals Have In Common?

Today I was working in my office with the television on in the back ground to follow the bank bail out and the pending vote.

Being involved in both the real estate and new homes sales profession I was listening with great interest regarding the outcome for the country financial heath and business.

From every indication it appeared that the bill to bail out the banks would be approved today.

Just before the vote Nancy Pelosi make a speech that may have contributed to the bill being not passed.

Did Nancy Pelosi Talk Herself Out of A Sale?

As we see so often sales professionals talk themselves out of a sale after it’s made, and that may be what happened today. Nancy Pelosi had the bill sold to both parties before the vote and her speech.

What happened today can be a learning experience for real estate sales professionals.

Follow the professional selling process. Make you case for the property, sell the benefits confirm the prospect wants the home and close the sale and make the customer feel good about buying the home.

Proactive listing is a key to selling following the 80-20 rule of listening 80% of the time to understand and know your customer.

Do you feel that Nancy Pelosi make her customers on both side of the aisle feel good about buying the product (the bill)?

Politics is Selling

I sensed that what I was watching today was not in the best interest of the country, but that of selling a political position.

It time to speak out on your position to your elected representatives to get the job done and done right.

Is Our Food Safe?

Is Our Food Safe?

Nearly 13,000 children have been reported sick from tainted milk in China.

The Associated Press has reported today that nearly 12,900 children have been hospitalized in China as a result of drinking tainted milk. It has also been reported that 104 of the children are in serious condition.

The milk has been exported to other counties around the world but the Chinese government has said that the milk has not been imported into the United States.

The Chinese Health Ministry has confirmed the story.

The milk in question is powered milk used for babies. The issue with the milk is the bi-products that are added to the milk.

Considering that these bi-products have been added to baby formula what assurances are there that these bi-products have not been added to other food products?

How Safe is our food?

Over the past couple of years, the United States has experienced tainted food products imported from around the world including vegetables, shrimp, fish, and baby food.

There are also non-food product issues such as, lead in toys, asbestos in clothes and bedding, anti-freeze bi-products in toothpaste, issues with medicine, and pet food.

Who’s Inspecting Our Food?

It appears that the United States government has now outsourced the inspection of our food to foreign governments.

What should the government’s responsibility be?

Where is the Concern for the Safety of our Imported Foods?

Who should be responsible for inspecting imported foods, the U.S. Government or the country of origin?

Who should be responsible for the heath, safety, and welfare of the people in our country?

Should we be outsourcing the inspection of the food supply coming into our country?

We Have to Ask?

With all of the rich farmland and resources available in the United States should we be importing what we can produce ourselves?

Is it important to think about the health, safety, and welfare of the people in the U.S.?

What about creating jobs and keeping the money in the country?

Hurricane Ike-It Looks Like a Disaster In the Making

Hurricane Ike-It Looks Like a Disaster In the Making

I just sat down in the family room and turned the TV on to check the hurricane coverage for hurricane Ike, it appears that we are about to see a disaster much larger then New Orleans with Katrina.

I can’t believe that after the residents were told that they would face death if they stayed there are thousands of people on the Galveston Island.

They just interviewed a business owner on Galveston Island that was in his business with a number of his friends. At the time of the telephone interview at about 10:20 EST there was five feet of water and rising in his store and they were on the second floor with one more floor to go to which would be fifteen feet above sea level. The storm surge is projected to be fifteen to twenty feet.

The report on the news said there are thousands of people that did not leave and they are in immediate danger of losing their lives.

It also appears the entire island will be under water from the Gulf of Mexico to the bay.

Also they announced that a levy has just let go in Louisiana and hundreds of homes are flooding.

This looks worst then what was projected and I hope I’m wrong.

Why are so Many People Talking about Sarah Palin?

Why are so Many People Talking about Sarah Palin?

Since Sarah Palin was announced last week as the vice president candidate it appears almost any conversation regarding the presidential election turns to Sarah Palin.

There seems to be a large number of people that are discussing and supporting her. There are also a large number of women that say they will vote for her.

What I’m hearing from this group of people is that they like the idea that she’s a Washington outsider and a fresh face.

What are your thoughts?

Sarah Palin A Power Moment and Quote

Sarah Palin A Power Moment and Quote

Did you have an opportunity to see and hear Vice President Candidate Sarah Palin speak at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night?

During that speech she made a short but memorable quote.

Palin asked the attendees, “What is the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?” She responded, “Lipstick.”

I sense Sarah Palin is a pit bull with lipstick and that she would hold her own with anyone. I also understand that her nickname in high school was barracuda.

We are about to have a historical election and when the voting is done we will either have the first African American president or the first woman vice president in the White House.

Whats your thoughts?
