When You Have A Curious Mind and Ask Why

When You Have A Curious Mind and Ask Why
“Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton asked why.”
Bernard Baruch 1870 - 1965, American Financier,
Stock Investor, Philanthropist, Statesman,
Political Consultant

As I see it . . . . . . .
When you have a curious mind and ask why

Ask question to gather new information . . . . and you will increase your base of knowledge.

Listen to understand . . . . and you’ll discover far more then you ever will by talking.

Be curious and look all around you . . . . and you’ll see what you’ve missed . . . .  and you will discover a whole new world.

Take a new path of discovery . . . . and you’ll open up a new world of opportunity.

Have an open mind with fresh eyes . . . . and look for ways to make a difference in people lives . . . . And you’ll find that they will make a difference in your life . . . . and they will be there for you.

Look up . . . . look down . . . .  look behind you . . . . look forward and look all around you . . . . and you be amazed that there is a whole new world all around you that you missed in the past.

What you’ll find by having a curious mind will be truly amazing . . . . and enlightening.

When you have a curious mind will . . . . and ask why . . . .  and you will get the answers.

Let Your Words be as Soft as Snowflakes

Let Your Words be as Soft as Snowflakes
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak,
but their echoes are truly endless.”
Mother Teresa, humanitarian

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Let your words be as soft as snowflakes

Let your words fall on the listener ears as lightly as snow flakes falling in the night . . . . and your words will be absorbed as they were meant to be.

Your words once spoken can never be recalled from the listener’s mind, they will be carried in their thoughts . . . . and may be there forever.

You can have your words can fall softly as snow . . . . or fall like a rock, whatever you do your words will make a lasting impression.

As a professional you are a professional communicator . . . . and it’s important to understand the effects your words will have on people.

You should listen to understand the other person . . . . and speak with a purpose. By listening to the person they are giving you the insight on how you can assist or help them to fill full their needs.

Before you speak pause for a few moments to understand what the person said to you . . . . and to give you a few moments to prepare your response.

As professional communicators choose your words wisely as they will create a lasting impression that may last forever . . . . and you will be judged by your words that you leave behind.

As a business professional and communicator your words will make the difference between creating a successful business relationship generating referrals . . . . or missed business opportunities.

Let your words be as soft as snowflakes . . . . and let them gently fall on the listener ears and the words that you leave behind will leave a positive impression on the listener.

Don’t Lecture or Criticize Let Your Advice Be Soft

Motivational Power Quote

Don’t Lecture or Criticize Let Your Advice Be Soft
“Advice is like the snow; the softer it fall, the longer it dwells upon
and the deeper it sinks into the mind.”
Samuel Taylor Coleridge 1772 - 1834, English Poet,
Literary Critic and Philosopher

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Don’t lecture or criticize your advice be soft

People don’t like to be lectured to or to be criticized. When you’re giving advice keep this in mind and appeal to their softer side . . . . and your advice will have greater impact.  Let your advice be soft.

People will resist hash advice . . . . and very likely tune the person out that offering the advice. If you want your words to have meaning . . . . let your advice be soft.

When you’re giving advice let what your saying  be of importance. Also what becomes critical in giving advice . . . . is how you say it what you have to say.

People will listen to advice when they feel it’s sincere . . . . and they feel that the person offering the advice has their best interest at heart. People will accept being help . . . . but they won’t accept being pushed.

When you’re offering advice know the person that you’re offering the advice to . . . . and the purpose of the advice.

Offer your advice as a way for the person to get to what they’re trying to accomplish not for personal satisfaction.

Don’t lecture or criticize let your advice be soft . . . . and let the other person be comfortable in accepting it.

Speak Clearly and Listen

Motivational Power Quote

Speak Clearly and Listen
“Speak clearly, if you speak at all; carve every word
before you let them fall.”
Oliver Wendall Homes 1809 - 1884, America Physician,
Poet, Professor, Lecturer, Author

As I see it . . . . . . .

Speak Cleary and Listen

For those who speak clearly will be understood . . . .

Those that listen will understand . . . .

When you’re listening you are fully engaging the speaker.

A proactive listener will draw the person into the conversation with their listening skills. The more you listen. . . . the more information you will gather and the better you will understand what the speaker is saying.

Information and knowledge does not come from speaking . . . . it comes a result of listening with the goal to hear and fully understand the speaker.

When you speak . . . . speak clearly . . . . and speak with a purpose.

Ask questions to draw a person into the conversation . . . . and listen to their response. In their response is a wealth of information that you will only hear when you’re listening.

The listeners are the most effective negotiators, the most successful sales professionals . . . . and develop the most successful and lasting relationships.

Speak clearly and listen . . . . choose your words carefully and listen with the intention of understanding.

The Secret of Effective Communications

Motivational Power Quote

The Secret of Effective Communications
“Talk to people about themselves
and they will listen for hours.”
Benjamin Disraeli, British Prime Minister

As I see it. . . . . . . .

The secret of effective communications

The secret of effective communications is actively listening eighty percent of the time and speaking and asking questions with a purpose twenty percent of the time.

Effective communicators are proactive listener that are able to freely exchange and gather information. They gain rapport with the person they are communicating with as a result of their ability to listen with empathy. As an effective communicator they build rapport with the other person and establish a common bond of trust.

As a proactive listener you engage the person and encourage them to speak by asking question and proactively listening to what they are saying. Asking open ended questions to encourages the person to communicate and to talk about themselves and their interests.

We gain control of the communication not by speaking but through the act of proactive listening.

The secret of effective communication is to listen and to understand the other person, their needs and their motivation.

Ask the Question

Motivational Power Quote

Ask the Question
“He who is afraid of asking
is ashamed of learning.”
Danish Proverb

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Never hesitate to ask questions.

In asking questions you will receive information that you did not have before the question was asked.

In asking for the sale the customer is far more likely to say yes then not asking the question.

Asking questions is the key to learning and knowledge. When we ask questions and listen actively we learn and accumulate information and knowledge.

Asking questions is a key element that leads to success.

Never hesitate to ask questions and always listen with an open mind to learn.
