We do not negotiate to liked . . . . we
negotiate to arrive at the desired outcome.
A successful negotiator is prepared for
the negotiations . . . . and can argue both positions in the negotiations effectively.
They also will be able to separate the issues from the people . . . . and
negotiate the issues to a successful conclusion.
Negotiations are not about winning every
point in the negotiations it’s about understanding how to successfully compromise
. . . . and remain focused the on end results of the negotiations. Professional
negotiations also is about letting the other person win small compromises in order to keep the
negotiation on track to create a win-win negotiations and successful
negotiating results.
